VR Instructions

Currently, only SteamVR is supported, however this should be compatible with Occulus and Windows Mixed Reality. It is intended to be played seated, with motion controls.

  1. Move your chair to an appropriate position. There should be plenty of unobstructed space in front of you. If your chair is adjustable, lower it. Your head should be 1.1 to 1.2 meters (3.5-4 feet) off the ground.
  2. Launch SteamVR.
  3. Stand from your seat, and open the SteamVR dashboard. Select "Reset standing position."
  4. Sit down. Launch Hyde VR.
  5. Point your controller and use the trigger to make menu selections.
  6. Once in game, you may need to further adjust your position to align with the rendered figure.
  7. Hold the grip buttons to grab objects. In the prototype Jam version, grabbing can be unreliable. Try to make sure your hand is clear of obstacles, and use the controller as a guide rather than the rendered hand.
  8. While holding something, press the trigger to perform an action on it. Usually, this is opening a bottle.
  9. Use the "sandwich" button to show a pause menu, and again to return to the main menu.

Desktop Instructions

  • In game, use the mouse or joystick to look around.
  • To grab something, center the reticle on the object, then press the left mouse button or the primary gamepad button. Continue pressing down to grab hold of it. In the prototype Jam version, grabbing can be unreliable, so it can take a few tries. Release the button to place the held object back.
  • While holding something, press the right mouse button or secondary gamepad button to perform an action on it. Usually, this is opening a bottle. Holding an open bottle will automatically consume the contents.
  • Press the escape button on the keyboard or start button on a gamepad to show a pause menu, and press it again to return to the main menu.

Game Jam Notes

I apologize that there isn't very much actual content. As these things go, I got caught up in details rather than focusing on a full experience. Follow me on itch.io or Twitter for future updates!

Is this safe to download? OwO

Is that not for you to decide? I like to think that I am trustworthy (and, would I tell you if I was not?). You can see for yourself the comments from people who have played it for the game jam.

I trust the maker of the game, I just like to ask for peoples opinion on games sometimes ^^” I was mainly asking about viruses owo

I´m using valve index controllers. I can move them around, but I can´t make menu selections. I really want to see the potential of this game in VR. Do you have a suggestion how I could try to fix that issue? Or what could cause it?

Sorry, I don't have Index controllers, so I can't test this. My only suggestion would be to check in the Steam controller bindings that the "GrabGrip," "GrabPinch," and "InteractUI" actions are each associated with some input.

Thanks for the hint.

I had to search a bit to find the options and if I looked right it´s already set up properly. But I was in a hurry and now I´m a t furality. I´ll try again later with more time. If I can reach something I´ll tell you.

I´m absolutely hyped for any VR games, wheter I can get them running or not, especially if they try interesting mechanics like this.

it puts me a mile away from the desk and i cant do anything

Occasionally hand tracking will get whacky, game also feels a little short lived. Not bad overall for what it is and I'd love to see more content out of this.

I cannot control in vr
